Located at the top of Quincy
Avenue in McCloud
California, Rainbow House
offers a Mt. Shasta view and
is walking distance to the
square dance hall, park, and
“downtown”. It is a perfect
spot for railroad buffs,
quilters, rock hounds,
mushroom hunters, square
dancers, and mountain gazers
alike. The house
is minutes away from the
McCloud River and its
tributaries.
Described as New Age Old
School, the Rainbow House
kitchen is designed either
for those who love to cook
or those who keep it simple.
The six burner, double oven
gas stove shines across the
floor from the original mill
house cabinetry with solid
pine plank countertop and
tilting flour bins. There is
a microwave hidden in a
cabinet and a Weber charcoal
grill out front. A lot of
people ask if we have a
dishwasher. The answer is
yes, just look in the
mirror.
The spice cabinet is well
stocked and there is a
seasonal herb garden in the
front yard.

The dining table seats six
comfortably. Additional
seating for four can be
gained with the porch table
and chairs. As a last
resort, there are antique TV
dinner trays on the back
porch.

After meals, kick back on
the sofa and recliners to
enjoy the games, books, or
videos we have on hand. Be
careful, things often become
silly and your laughing
muscles may be sore in the
morning. There is DIRECT TV
along with DVD, VCR, and CD players.

After you’ve exhausted all
the activities in the area
(or they’ve exhausted you),
retire to one of the three
bedrooms (one king and two
queens) each with private
bath and shower and plenty
of hot water. There are
extra towels in each room
and a washer and dryer on
the back porch.

The Rainbow House is open to
dogs at no extra charge. We
do ask that you pick up
after them. Bags, scooper,
and hand sanitizer are
supplied. Both the front and
back yards are securely
fenced. Please leave diggers, chewers,
and scratchers at home.
